Dreaming a Prayer for an Enlightened Future
August 20. 2010 - I've been getting a lot of emails to join prayer groups for the healing of the oceans, the forests, the earth; and just when it seems to me that people are starting to actually wake up, I get other emails that say 'the gods are angry', 'the earth is angry', 'these catastrophes are happening in areas where people have been evil for too long and god is teaching a lesson'. They reek of judgment, fear, and projection. More

On the Trail of Love

Although, the corollary is also true - that is, without love imbuing one’s spiritual wisdom, another form of egotistic destitution can play out. More

Respectfully Yours…Unconditionally!

Living Consciously - by Carol Carnes
May 26, 2010 - Ernest Holmes wrote: Stop arguing. Learn to believe. Stop debating.  Learn to accept.

Use your intellect, imagination and feeling for the purpose of seeing and sensing freedom instead of bondage, joy instead of unhappiness, plenty instead of want, health in place of disease. The very denial of your Good keeps it from you.

What is the purpose of a thinking mind if not to create?  Why do we have the capacity to imagine if not to bring our images into form?  Our minds are designed for more than survival.  They are meant to be the means to thrival.  In the evolution of awareness, we spiral up and out of superstition and into co creation. We discover the principles that are involved in the personal experience of being human.

Moving out of survival thinking we come into our own as conscious centers in the creative process.  We find that we are meant to participate in the unfolding of experience.  Humbly we realize that in some very real way, we are necessary to the particularization of the Whole. More

A MANNER OF SPEAKING - by Mary Giuffre
May 26, 2010 - “What can I do for you?” is my very favourite question.  I love to ask it and I love it when I’m asked. It’s a gracious question, a courteous question. It makes the asked feel respected and the asker feel empowered. It’s also a generous question, allowing both parties the opportunity to give of themselves to the other. As a heartfelt inquiry it’s evidence that we are aware of, and care how other people feel and it’s an obvious demonstration of good manners.

Unfortunately considerate social behaviour is on a steady decline because technology helps us neglect the people around us. In our so-called advanced techno-culture, graciousness, courtesy, generosity, respect and many other signs of a well-mannered society appear to be completely ignored. More

REVIEW - Mindi Abair – In Hi-Fi Stereo
Heads Up International (www.mindiabair.com)
May 26, 2010 – Well, one things for sure, Mindi Abair is not shopping on Main Street anymore. As they say, “run away from the past and eventually it will run into you.”

Abair just isn’t pretty anymore, musically that is. On ‘In Hi-Fi Stereo’ she’s taking the elevator to the basement where everything started. It’s not only her musical foundation but also a place we’ve all been before. It’s the room where the backbone of many inspirations first started – the golden age of R&B, Soul and Funk.

‘In Hi-Fi Stereo’ displays a musician almost channelling mid-to-early eighties David Sanborn and that ain’t a bad thing. Sure, I can hear the purists saying it’s derivative but Abair serves up a sense of cool and it’s a smart career choice that still fits in Smooth Jazz and the more traditional outlets will probably taste-test as well. Watch this trend expand as more Smooth Jazz musicians fight to escape the box that’s been built around them and sometimes by them. More

Is Your Past Ruling Your Life?

May 26, 2010 - It is said that everybody has a skeleton in their closet. As a child who almost always took things literally I always used to think that this was a weird phrase which had extremely dark connotations. Needless to say I was none too keen to wander into the spare bedrooms and peek inside the closet doors!

This terminology is really just a descriptive way in which to say that everyone has something hidden from everyday view; everyone has a secret which they wish to keep out of sight from prying eyes. We all have done things which we find embarrassing or upsetting and so we try to push them into the darker recesses at the backs of our minds. More often than not the things which we wish to hide are really not that important; we humans are very good at making mountains out of mole hills.

To push something to the back of one's mind is a logical thing to do and most of the time it works very effectively. There are certain times however when it can be rather less beneficial. When something is unresolved, or you haven't accepted it fully, and you try to push it out of your mind, it will keep coming back in various forms. Often an unresolved issue will reappear disguised as a physical symptom. If you do not listen to your body and hear what it is trying to tell you, your body is quite likely to raise its voice and produce a more uncomfortable symptom. More

Self Talk Tactics For Improved Positive Thinking
May 14, 2010 - In this day and age the internet is full of resources that display techniques and methods of self help and positive thinking. What many these resources don´t mention is the tactics of self talk, this has to be a unique method when it comes to self help, and especially positive thinking. The mind is a very powerful thing and we will only ever get out of it what wee put in, or what we let others put in - so it remains vital that we use self talk to input some real positive thinking and vibes in order to maximize our self help efforts.

In general when we think of self help techniques, or positive thinking techniques the self talk tactic is very often overlooked and underestimated, and many people find it difficult to have the confidence in their own beliefs and feel they must here the encouragement from others, and this is a primary mistake. By talking things over with ourselves it helps us better know ourselves, and the situations we find our self in and therefore find easier, and better solutions. To ensure self help we have to ensure positive thinking, and to ensure this we must encourage ourselves and not wait for others to do so. More

Recommendations from colleagues are helpful in terms of coaching effectiveness, but coach selection also requires some important personal considerations. Achieving Goals is a 5 Step Process
May 8, 2010 - Achieving goals is much more a process then it is an event. This is likely why many goals go unaccomplished. Often people in an initial burst of enthusiasm set goals but eventually their drive dies out due to a lack of motivation. The end results of course are the failure to reach goals that have been set. Goals and objectives should not be regarded as an impulse but more of a well planned out series of pre-defined actions that focus on achieving a particular result.

Establishing business goals for instance is necessary to better coordinate the efforts required to reach the desired objectives. Since these type goals are rooted in profits and income we tend to take them more seriously thus the plan of action is usually carried out more precisely. But in almost every case setting goals will require developing a plan of action that will take time and effort to successfully implement and complete. Your willing participation and resolve will be needed in this process for you to actually reach goals you have set. More
