Living Consciously
As Raymond Charles Barker wrote in his classic book Treat Yourself To Life: (paraphrased) I have discovered that the rules laid down for the good of humanity and its progress work only when they are interpreted in terms of the inner person, not the outer person. More

Where Does Your Spiritual Rubber Meet Your Road?
- For many years now I’ve consciously, actively been on my spiritual journey. It’s been a twisty, curvy kind of off road track, meandering here and there, sloughing it up hills, careening out of control down hills. More

Top Ten Myths about Tarot Cards and Tarot Reading
- Myth 1 - "Tarot cards can predict the future." Predicting the future is not difficult we can all do it. If for example you know someone who is consistently spending more than they earn and paying for it by building up a credit card debt then it's not hard to predict where that one is heading. More

Finding Ultimate Freedom Through Forgiveness
- I’ve heard it said that holding on to unforgiveness is like taking poison while hoping the other person will die. The truth is, unforgiveness punishes you far worse than the person who did you harm. Chances are they have gone on about their life, clueless to the fact that you are still suffering and full of anger. More

- MIRACLES. How do you define a miracle? Striking a 2 Million dollars lottery? Surviving from a lightning strike? Yes, these ARE miracles happening around the globe. But aren't you forgetting another miracle? One that I have seen, heard and even touched it. Now "what is it?" you asked. More

Importance of Birth Charts
- The Sanskrit for Horoscope is “Kundali”. The birth chart or natal chart in Sanskrit is then called “Janma Kundali”. By definition a horoscope depicts the position of all the planets in heaven for given date, time and sun sign. This date and time is critical because planets are in constant motion and their positions are continuously changing. More

Where Does Your Spiritual Rubber Meet Your Road?
October 6, 2010 - For many years now I’ve consciously, actively been on my spiritual journey. It’s been a twisty, curvy kind of off road track, meandering here and there, sloughing it up hills, careening out of control down hills. All of it allowing me the opportunity to investigate, explore and face the challenges of taking the road less traveled. Some of it has been difficult, some of it lonely, some of it terrifying but all of it rewarding. Looking back I see the distractions and the superfluous pieces that I couldn’t see at the time. Turns out that everything wasn’t important after all. Some of it was just avoidance some of it just drama to occupy an idle mind.

I like to think that along the way I developed some wisdom but honestly I think it boils down to that I just started choosing what was right for me. Somewhere along the line I stopped worrying about having to know it all and gave up trying to piece it all together. I also stopped trying to find the best path or the one true path and instead I began believing in just knowing me and honoring myself and my spiritual needs. I noticed that I began to feel really grounded, stable and centered. I had finally come to the place where my spiritual rubber met my road. I knew where I was at and where I was going and why I needed to get there. More

Dreaming a Prayer for an Enlightened Future
August 20. 2010 - I've been getting a lot of emails to join prayer groups for the healing of the oceans, the forests, the earth; and just when it seems to me that people are starting to actually wake up, I get other emails that say 'the gods are angry', 'the earth is angry', 'these catastrophes are happening in areas where people have been evil for too long and god is teaching a lesson'. They reek of judgment, fear, and projection. It seems that whenever we get afraid for our futures we project our worry and fear to all who will listen. The internet can be a powerful tool in spreading whatever word you want to spread. If we want to help our earth and ourselves people, it's time to get real! The mind-boggling catastrophes we are witnessing today are caused by human error, negligent practices, unbridled greed and lack of foresight. The earth changes are part of the earth's journey through the stars. There is no mystery. The earth is not angry (though I wouldn't blame her if she were) and the gods? Well... no comment!

Assigning Responsibility -- Becoming Accountable
No people, fact is we live in a co-creative world. As the thinking, reasoning and decision making species on this planet we are failing miserably at making good choices and taking care of our home planet. We behave as unruly children in a candy shop, pushing blame around in a "wasn't me!" and “I dunno” unaccountability mentality. Like spoiled children we expect to just keep taking everything freely and greedily and that magically the candy bins will all be re-filled to bountiful levels again without any thought as to how that might happen.

Respectfully Yours…Unconditionally!
August 16, 2010 - Def: respect; to admire, to place in esteem, to regard, to be considerate of
Respect must be earned. How often do we hear this? What do you think?
I disagree with the statement. I have learned that respect must be given, freely and unreservedly, upon the very first second of laying eyes on somebody, before you know anything about them. Nothing should come between you and initially showering someone with utmost respect.

I know this is not what we have been taught. We have been conditioned to believe that respect is earned, that it is to be deserved.

Respect that is earned is established through a relationship of getting to know someone. In order to determine if someone has proven themselves to be respect worthy we must move into a place of judgment. From that lofty place I can certainly critically determine the criteria for bestowing my respect. I can say yes you have behaved in accordance with my standards and so I will respect you, or no you have failed miserably, therefore I cannot respect you. But what on earth gives me the right to make those decisions?Believing you have the right to bestow or refuse respect is a trick of the ego playing power games.

Me, deciding to deem someone or something respect worthy has no meaning whatsoever to conscious evolution. Onlybeing respectful or disrespectful affects the evolution of humanity.

Me: A Selfish Work in Progress - By Andrea Connell

July 17, 2010 - I believe in being the best you can be. It isn’t always easy, sometimes we end up on a slippery slope no matter what, sometimes, one too many glasses of wine can blur the line between smart and not so smart, sometimes our deep-seated crap just gets in the way. But I try anyway.

I realize that I am a work in progress so I cut myself some slack but I still try to be aware and honest with myself; the good, the bad, and the ugly. Even still, I am not always committed to doing what is best for me. I don't exercise enough for example, though I know how important it is. I drink way too much coffee even though I know that my system is too acidic and coffee only makes that worse. I already mentioned the wine thing, I could lose a few pounds (OK several), I stay up too late at night - every night, thinking, reading, writing - old habits. So although I am conscious about my habits and behaviors and I have my reasons (not always good ones I'll admit) is it because I am not committed to my best life?

I've come to realize that my best life means I live fairly selfishly, for my own best interests. Doesn’t sound good, does it? I don't always think of others first. I'm no goody two-shoes, no wilting violet and certainly no spiritual martyr, but I completely understand and cherish the value of living your best life. We come into this world alone and we'll go out alone. It's up to me to have the life I want. Over the years I've consciously created my own code of living a good life. It suits me, it serves me and it's admittedly selfish. So I did some personal investigating into who I am and how I behave. I do this periodically to refocus, realign my mind with my heart, and repair all that ain't working! So here it goes... More

Conquering Demons of Fear - By Andrea Connell

July 14, 2010 - Week after week we are inundated with news to fear and worry about. The news media has launched a relentless attack on our good senses and optimism. On a daily basis we hear about the threat of pandemic viruses and their dubious vaccination programs, ongoing war and terrorism, widespread unemployment and personal financial losses, a worldwide failing economy, global warming, growing risks of cancer, heart disease and other life threatening diseases and it goes on and on. And it doesn’t stop when we turn off the TV; fear is coming at us from every direction. We are literally being frightened to death. Most of these issues seem out of our control and we hate being out of control. Never before have I seen so much worry, angst, anger, and fear. Our demons are not just lurking in our own subconscious, they are reflected in the faces and actions of strangers on the street. It is critical that we take a stand against the persuasive power of fear as it settles down around us. It is vital that we learn quickly to cultivate a positive state of mind and stay optimistic, and come to understand ourselves as light beings. As the light around us diminishes we must learn strategies to develop our natural power of being bearers of good tidings and light. This is not a time for white washing everything or for putting on our rose coloured glasses; this is a fight for survival, make no mistake about it. More

Myth Busting the Law of Attraction - By Andrea Connell
April 20, 2010 - In the last week I’ve had several ‘spiritual’ discussions with people about money. Today, I got another one of those money fairy emails, this one with a threat of loved ones dying if I broke the chain! Seriously?! People, especially the spiritually minded ones, have so many misconceptions and issues about money, finances, wealth and abundance. So desperate are we for meaning in our lives we flock to anything that might spiritually explain our place and worth in the universal scheme of things. Add to that an unquenchable thirst for stuff and material wealth (oh just admit it…you have it too!) and you end up with a confused and frustrated population easily influenced by superstition and phony baloney promises. We were absolutely ecstatic when suddenly the airwaves exploded with information on working with The Law of Attraction. Suddenly it seemed that we were able to be spiritual and wealthy and that we now had a formula to work with to get this balance happening. More

Finding Balance - By Andrea Connell

May 7, 2010 - Life is crazy busy. It can be a real juggling act just trying to keep things floating along relatively smoothly but sometimes it’s impossible! Sometimes it seems that no matter how you try to plan and try to stay organized there’s just no way and before you know it you’re chasing your tail, burning the candle from both ends, and feeling defeated before you even got out of the gate. That balance beam you are usually walking on suddenly turned into a high wire act without a safety net. Possibly dangerous, probably not worth it, and definitely stressful. Stress is the greatest side effect of trying to maintain balance in our hectic lives. Stress is the major cause of illness, breakdowns, and ultimate failure in our lives today.

The problem though, is this; people don’t understand balance and don’t value harmony enough in our modern day life. There are 3 main obstacles to achieving balance. More

Ask and you shall receive - By Andrea Connell
April 8, 2010 - Last night I was asked to do a home tarot card party. I had only read for one of these women before. As I was driving to the house I did my normal routine of getting centered, focusing ahead to the evening and tuning in to the vibe of the night. Instantly I became aware of very specific emotions of sadness, guilt, doubt, and trepidation all stemming from broken/healing hearts. Hmmm....it was shaping up to be an interesting evening ahead. It's a very interesting phenomenon that the people who gravitate together for any particular event, be it a workshop, card party, reiki class, or seminar have something in common with each other even though they may all be strangers to each other. It is an aspect of the Law of Attraction. Like attracts like but we are not always aware it’s going on.

When I first started teaching I would notice and observe this happening and marvel at the coincidence. Today I take a more aggressive approach and throw out a silent "Thank you" to the universe for bringing the right people together in the moment before I arrive. Ok, so maybe that part isn't so aggressive but it is purposeful. Simply by acknowledging that the right people have come together would allow the magic to begin. More
