Top Ten Myths about Tarot Cards and Tarot Reading
- Myth 1 - "Tarot cards can predict the future." Predicting the future is not difficult we can all do it. If for example you know someone who is consistently spending more than they earn and paying for it by building up a credit card debt then it's not hard to predict where that one is heading. More

Mysticism Meets an Impasse - Eckhart Tolle and Anthroposophy
August 20, 2010 - In my experience questing for understanding of spiritual aspects of the human community, I have had occasion to encounter some unusual synchronicities. One such event emerged while perusing a lecture by noted Initiate and spiritual scientist, Rudolf Steiner. Steiner’s statement, pertaining to 13th Century mystic, Meister Eckhart, ran as follows: (to paraphrase) “Eckhart mistook the seed of his next life (accrued from wisdom of his then current life) for the “God within,” as he was not familiar with the dynamics of reincarnation.”

Steiner was referring to both Meister Eckhart, and his principle disciple, John Tauler. Cut, now, to a popular spiritual teacher of our present time, Eckhart Tolle. Eight centuries ago, we had Eckhart/Tauler. Now we have Eckhart Tolle. . . hmmm. . .so I did a metaphysical double take on this resonation, and decided to look deeper.

One of the first things I discovered was that Eckhart Tolle’s keystone awakening, a life-altering experience at age 29, typified the kind of event found on the path of a mystic. As opposed to a rigorous, day by day, every-step-earned process, Tolle’s entry was an overnight leap into the Threshold.

Subsequent to his epiphany experience, the Tolle of today, nee Ulrich Leonard Tolle, changed his name to resonate with one of his key influences, the original Meister Eckhart of the 13th Century. More

Living Consciously: August 20, 2010

Dear friends,

Marcus Aurelius asked “What am I doing with my soul?” He suggests we interrogate ourselves to find out what inhabits our “so-called” mind and what kind of soul we have right now; that of a child, an adolescent, a predator or its prey? Spiritual inventory has always been on the list of wisdom teachers as the first order of business for anyone seeking depth change in their lives. It all begins within, behind the thoughts and beliefs, at the level of our deepest self awareness.

How to know? That is the easy part. We can observe how we react to the situations in the moment. Be honest. Do we behave like a petulant kid who wants his dessert before dinner? Are we overly dramatizing how others seem to treat us, in the manner of an emotionally charged teen? In the privacy of our own mind do we talk about how “they” won’t let us, “they” betrayed us, “he or she” took advantage? Are we plotting and planning how to get our good rather than engaging and trusting the creative aspect of our mind?

What is our goal here if not to be present and comfortable in our own skin; and as Aurelius wrote “not showing off our obedience to logos (God) but resting in it.” There is no need to take a stance as a warrior, a damsel in distress, a needy child, a superior intellect or the star in the great drama of life. We simply need to look within, call up the natural self, acknowledge our safety in the atmosphere of this spiritual universe and be ourselves. Life knows how to take us forward from that place. There is a way of being in the world that opens the whole field of possibility to us. We cannot fail at anything when we are a success at being real. More

The Real Science Behind Lucid Dreaming
August – 20, 2010 - Lucid Dreaming is Conscious Dreaming and is the ability of awareness that you are dreaming. In a nutshell, you are aware that all the occurrences you are experiencing are actually within a dream, while you are dreaming. While lucid dreaming you have a certain amount of control, unlike when you are experiencing normal dreaming.

The power of having mastery over shaping the events of your own dreams is part of the very definition of the metaphysical. All of the normal dream-time rules, like 'timelessness', 'teleportation', and so on still apply: so, step into an existence where your usual limitations have suddenly vanished without a trace.

Can it be so simple? Can you lucid dream and then make those things that in the waking hours seem impossibly difficult come to life in reality.

In fact, lucid dreaming is not too difficult of an endeavor at all. You just need the drive and desire to learn this powerful method for bringing forth your innermost wishes. And, there are tried and true ways of mastering this power. More

Dreaming a Prayer for an Enlightened Future
August 20. 2010 - I've been getting a lot of emails to join prayer groups for the healing of the oceans, the forests, the earth; and just when it seems to me that people are starting to actually wake up, I get other emails that say 'the gods are angry', 'the earth is angry', 'these catastrophes are happening in areas where people have been evil for too long and god is teaching a lesson'. They reek of judgment, fear, and projection. It seems that whenever we get afraid for our futures we project our worry and fear to all who will listen. The internet can be a powerful tool in spreading whatever word you want to spread. If we want to help our earth and ourselves people, it's time to get real! The mind-boggling catastrophes we are witnessing today are caused by human error, negligent practices, unbridled greed and lack of foresight. The earth changes are part of the earth's journey through the stars. There is no mystery. The earth is not angry (though I wouldn't blame her if she were) and the gods? Well... no comment!

Assigning Responsibility -- Becoming Accountable
No people, fact is we live in a co-creative world. As the thinking, reasoning and decision making species on this planet we are failing miserably at making good choices and taking care of our home planet. We behave as unruly children in a candy shop, pushing blame around in a "wasn't me!" and “I dunno” unaccountability mentality. Like spoiled children we expect to just keep taking everything freely and greedily and that magically the candy bins will all be re-filled to bountiful levels again without any thought as to how that might happen.

On the Trail of Love
August 19, 2010 - It’s hard to turn away from spirit, and not become egotistic.
Although, the corollary is also true - that is, without love imbuing one’s spiritual wisdom, another form of egotistic destitution can play out.

What is functionality in an incarnation?
In other words, what is love? How does it work? - this heart of life essence, this living business? What would functionalism look like?
Shall I turn to my center, and strive to discover what love is?

Prayer: Love, what would you have of me? Here I am, love, what would you have me do? Teach me, lead me, guide me. Help me to know you, as you are.

One answer: Of those I encounter - strive to know them, as they are. Even beyond their own self-awareness.

Love is ever accessible.

Until we evolve further, we can only love to the edge of our development. Yet, love is, by nature, full. Fully evolved in itself. More

Lucky Charms, Amulets, Talismans, and Their Protective Power
August 17, 2010 - For ages, cultures all over the world have worn and used charms, amulets, and talismans as a way to protect them from harm and other unknown forces. A great common example is the crucifix. The crucifix is most commonly used in Christianity to protect from fallen spirits and demonic energies. Another Christian tradition is to place a holy book underneath a sick person's bed or pillow. Some people will wear crosses around their neck for protection, even in more modern times in several well-known places.

In more ancient times, people living in central Europe believed that garlic helped to keep vampires away, along with the crucifix. It has been strongly believed that if a person makes a charm, amulet, or talisman, it can often give off greater healing power and good luck to those that make and wear them. Amulets have also been known to protect from sickness and serve medicinal purposes. There are still many amulets, lucky charms, and talismans that are widely used today.

In often more than a few cultures, people still believe in the healing and protective powers that amulets and talismans can bring. They are not just a thing of the past, and there is still a huge belief that they are highly effective. However, if you want the most out of your lucky charm, talisman, or amulet, you must try to make it yourself. More

Dear friends,

Spirituality is a way of seeing and being, not a memorization of doctrine and rules. The depth of our awareness can be measured in everyday activities. Are we able to see and feel a commonality among all people? Do we trust in the goodness of the human heart to assert itself in the face of another’s suffering? Do we share our prosperity with ease and joy? Is our health something we cherish and look after in gratitude? Can we see through the appearance of ugliness to the beauty within? Do we expect the best and praise what is good now?

An important aspect of modern spirituality is the assertion of mind power over materiality. It is the daily practice of introducing wholeness affirmations into our thought processes. It is a kind of declarative stance that all is well, that life is good, that we are greater than we may seem to be, that there is One Power underlying all diversity, that we are capable of creating a world of love and beauty, peace and prosperity. August 16, 2010 - Everyone wants to get the best out of their lives as life is short and you have millions of things to do in your entire lifetime. Different people have different ideas of enjoyment, some enjoy by making a lot of girl friends whereas others are happy with one, some party, smoke and drink a lot whereas other are happy with their daily routine of work. Respectfully Yours…Unconditionally!
August 16, 2010 - Def: respect; to admire, to place in esteem, to regard, to be considerate of
Respect must be earned. How often do we hear this? What do you think?
I disagree with the statement. I have learned that respect must be given, freely and unreservedly, upon the very first second of laying eyes on somebody, before you know anything about them. Nothing should come between you and initially showering someone with utmost respect.

I know this is not what we have been taught. We have been conditioned to believe that respect is earned, that it is to be deserved.

Respect that is earned is established through a relationship of getting to know someone. In order to determine if someone has proven themselves to be respect worthy we must move into a place of judgment. From that lofty place I can certainly critically determine the criteria for bestowing my respect. I can say yes you have behaved in accordance with my standards and so I will respect you, or no you have failed miserably, therefore I cannot respect you. But what on earth gives me the right to make those decisions?Believing you have the right to bestow or refuse respect is a trick of the ego playing power games.

Me, deciding to deem someone or something respect worthy has no meaning whatsoever to conscious evolution. Onlybeing respectful or disrespectful affects the evolution of humanity.

Living Consciously August 16, 2010

Dear friends,

Emerson said “the radical tragedy of nature seems to be the distinction of more and less.” How much unhappiness and personal angst is the result of wishing something were more of itself or less? A person ought to be more loving and less aloof. Our job needs more variety and less tedium. A friend should be more available and less involved with her work. The weather is more humid than last year and less pleasant. There are more problems than opportunities. We go on and on in the more and less chatter.

It is the constant noticing of what we think is missing that is the culprit. Rather than enjoying what is, right now, we tinker with the alternatives in our mind. This or that could be more or less of what it appears to be. It sounds like complaining, but in some instances it is merely the mind mulling over possibilities. We simply have to be careful that this tendency does not rob us of immediate enjoyment and possible discovery. Underneath what we judge as less, there might be more of something real and valuable which we would miss if we are overly focused on the judgment. A shy person may seem to be difficult to hold a conversation with, but if we accept them as is, they might open up and prove to be an expert in some area of interest to us. More
